A nylon breakaway collar is ideal for active cats that go out often: lightweight, water-resistant, easy to care for and available in many colors. A leather breakaway cat collar suits indoor cats or owners looking for a more elegant style. The model with a reflective strip is recommended for cats that go out at dusk or at night, for maximum visibility.

By your cat's profile

For a kitten, choose an ultra-light model (under 20 g) with a wide adjustment range: it will grow fast. For an active outdoor cat, go for reflective nylon with a sturdy Quick Release buckle. For an indoor cat, all our models are suitable: a breakaway collar is still recommended even in an apartment, because accidents can happen on chair rungs or door handles.

How does the breakaway system work?
The Quick Release buckle is calibrated to withstand your cat's normal movements but opens automatically as soon as excessive pulling occurs, for example if the collar gets caught on a branch or a fence. Your cat can then free itself without any help.
My cat sometimes comes home without its collar: is that normal?
Yes, it's completely normal, and it actually proves the system works! Your cat got caught somewhere and the safety buckle did its job by releasing it. It's not a defect: it's exactly what the collar is designed to do.
Is the engraving really free?

Is a breakaway collar suitable for kittens?
Yes, from 3-4 months. Choose a lightweight model with a wide adjustment range, since kittens grow fast. Check the fit every two weeks during the first few months.
